What a lovely little find, fell in love almost instantly with such a warm and inviting atmosphere.
It was quite busy so we were relieved to find a table free.
Regulars at the bar engaged in conversation and pleasantries, staff were so friendly and helpful.
Beer was delicious and served in spotlessly clean glasses.
Food was absolutely dynamite, I had the chilli beef strips which were melt in your mouth, my partner had sausage with bubble & squeak which was a tower of food, child had popcorn chicken in a basket - all huge portions, piping hot, nicely presented and served with a smile.

Booked for Sunday Lunch there and then. Delighted again on our return visit. Roast Beef with huge homemade yorkie puds. Child went for giant yorkie filled with veggies which was enormous!

Delicious Sunday lunch for us - the chips are amazeballs!!!!! Decently sized portions, attractively priced and served by a very friendly team. One of our pals cheekily asked for extra crackling with their roast and they weren’t disappointed!

The pub has been there for yonks. Kicking ourselves for not having taken a nose at the river. Maybe next time.

Appreciate its a moot point for many but the only reason we took 1 point off the atmos was owing to a couple of slightly noisy punters who were sitting and swearing quite loudly at each other in the bar / beer garden. Having served in bars and done silver service myself for many years, I appreciate the staff are unlikely to turf them out but it just took the edge off what was otherwise a fab visit.

One of the best pubs in Fairford.

Visited all of them, and The Railway Inn is certainly my favourite.

Good food, great atmosphere. I have visited here twice so far, and both times it has been very good!

The only criticism is the lack of vegetarian food. If you are vegan you have no chance.

The vegetarian option is macaroni cheese, or macaroni cheese balls for a starter. I personally feel they could easily make a burger at least. Beyond Burger do some excellent patties, for example.

Though don't get me wrong, the macaroni cheese is brilliant, there's just so many times I can have the same thing.

If you are ever in Fairford and want to eat of perhaps just drinks and don't want to have to take a mortgage, this is the place. Excellent atmosphere, good food and attentive staff - try their breakfast it really is the ultimate in pub grub.

Great first experience at The Railway on Friday for steak night! The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection and the accompanying tomatoes, mushrooms, fries, and peppercorn sauce were all delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed, and we appreciated the friendly service from the bar staff. The historical setting of the building also added to the overall ambiance. Oh, and the beer was excellent! We'll certainly be coming back for another meal.
